What areas can be treated with the Dermaquest Salicylic Peel?
Face, Chest and Back.
How does the Salicylic Peel work?
A salicylic acid peel is a light, superficial chemical peel that only affects the outermost layers of the skin. This means that the results are limited only to the epidermis, and does not damage deeper layers. Because the damage is more superficial, a salicylic acid peel has a shorter recovery time and less painful side effects.
A salicylic acid peel works to improve several skin conditions, such as:
•Congested (oily) skin
Unlike other chemicals peels, the salicylic acid peel is not designed to lighten hyperpigmentation or to remove fine lines and wrinkles but to target oils in the skin which lead to breakouts.
After a thorough skin analysis the skin is cleansed and the peel solution is carefully applied over the face avoiding the eye area and the neck.
If necessary another application is applied. Each application (known as a pass) will dry for 5 minutes and the practitioner will decide when the desired level of peeling has been achieved.
How many Salicylic Peel treatments will I need?
This treatment is normally performed in a series of (3) treatments each 2-4 weeks apart, depending on the practitioner’s recommendation.
