Pumpkin Peel Review by Chic Muslimah

29/07/2015

Chic Muslimah is a lifestyle blog aiming to provide an innovative approach in styling designer brands and the latest runway looks and fashion trends in a modest way therefore making it suitable for muslim women. Aisha also loves skincare and was delighted when we invited her into our Manchester clinic to try out a Pumpkin Peel. Here's her review of this fab and gentle resurfacing treatment.

I love getting facials (who doesn’t like spoiling themselves?) especially before any big event, and it’s no secret that I am always looking out for facials that give your skin a brighter glow. So when I spoke to Skin Health Spa and they offered me a complimentary facial, I was sooo excited to share my experience with you all.

The Spa ensures that the ambiance is smooth just like the service I received today by the team. So the facial I had done today was called a Pumpkin Peel.

What does it do?

Well, it helps with slightly congested skin, and any general concerns that you may have with your skins apperance, overall it is a skin brightening treatment.

How does the Pumpkin Peel work?

After the skin is thoroughly cleansed it is prepared with a prime solution. Thereafter the pumpkin resurfacer is applied over the face in an upward and outward motion. The treatment is then allowed to exfoliate for 3-10 minutes depending on your skin type, condition and sensitivity.

Finally the therapist will wipe off the peel and neutralise the skin.

Will the Pumpkin resurfacer hurt?

I did experience a mild heat sensation, this sensation can be assisted with either a fan or the application of cool towels.

How many Pumpkin Peel treatments will I need?

The Pumpkin resurfaces can be performed in a series of (6) treatments scheduled 1-2 weeks apart, approximately twice per year.

The cost for this facial is £95.00 but Skin Health Spa have various offers and promotions on each month.

Before you have this facial done you have to prep your skin between 2/3 weeks before hand, with a glycolic cleanser, serum and moisturiser. You will be required to wear an SPF 30 or above for the days following your treatment.

The Pumpkin Peel not only treats the top layer of your skin but also reaches down to the lower dermis too so improves the skin deep down and not just on the surface.

At the end of the treatment the therapist applied a Flint + Flint Serum, Mosturiser, Eye Hero and SPF30 Primer on my face.

The result: my skin definitely looks and feels clean.

Thank you Skin Heath Spa for inviting me into your Manchester clinic to sample one of your facials.
