We would like to inform our clients that the Flint + Flint clinics and Skin Heath Spa clinics are no longer in business, after going into administration.
We are, however pleased to inform you that with immediate effect the clinics are now part of The sk:n Group who operate both sk:n Clinics and Destination Skin Click for more information
Skin Health Spa kindly invited me along to their Manchester clinic this week to experience their latest Oxygen Facial, as the perfect pre-christmas treat. My visit left me feeling truly pampered and relaxed, as well as inspired to step-up my current skincare routine.
What Is The Oxygen Facial?
The so-called ‘Instagram facial’, claims to perfect your skin to filter-standards and leaves you looking tighter, brighter and clearer. The ‘Oxygen’ bit comes into play with a puncture jet technology system that provides the lower layers of skin with much-needed nutrients, promoting collagen growth and repair from the inside-out. I was skeptical to say the least about the idea of using what is essentially air, on the skin and expecting to see any outstanding benefits. But from first-hand experience I can say that the treatment definitely leaves you feeling refreshed and cleansed on a whole new level!
I started with a brief skin consultation and analysis with one of the aestheticians, as it was my first visit and she wanted to make sure that the products being used were matched to my skin type. As someone who sticks to the most basic of skincare (i.e. whatever is on offer in Boots), I learnt so much from this discussion alone, specifically about the flaws in my routine. Oops, bye Nivea!
The Oxygen facial started with a double cleanse and a gentle exfoliation, using the Spa’s own Flint + Flint products. Following this was an enzyme mask that left my skin tingling (in a good way) and then a super relaxing facial massage. To start the Oxygen therapy, a serum is applied to the skin whilst a Mircochanelling roller is powered up with 75% pure Oxygen. The roller is run over the face to push the serum in, giving a weird sucking sensation as it creates microscopic channels. It may not sound like it but the process is very relaxing and leaves the skin feeling cooled and deeply-cleaned. The aesthetician praised Oxygen’s skin-clearing properties and therefore paid particular attention to the parts of my skin that are particularly problematic.
As I mentioned before, my skincare is basic to say the least so I knew that any extra attention would feel like a true indulgence. Whilst my skin does not look any clearer on the outset, Skin Health Spa know themselves that any outstanding benefits take time and repetition. That said, from this one treatment I felt the benefits of a deep-cleanse andI have happily gone makeup-free for the last few days to preserve the natural glow. I’m eager to try out Flint + Flint products over the long-term to hopefully see some improvements, although I may just have to wait for that post-Christmas student loan drop….
Visiting the clinic was a lovely experience from start to finish, with the staff taking great care of me, especially as it was my first ever visit. You’ll find Skin Health Spa tucked away, just off King Street- why not treat yourself?!
